The cost of fighting terrorist and waging war has a ripple effect that spreads to the citizens of every country across the globe. Every dollar spent on weapons is a dollar taken away from medicine for the sick and food for the hungry. Every destroyed city block requires rebuilding that takes away resources for constructive pursuits. You know about these costs, but did you know that the costs of obesity are nearly as great?
It all started back in the early 1990s. Actually, it probably started long before that. It probably started the first time someone decided to sell a substance on the claim that it improved health.
