I am a bit of an ice cream addict. I have had brief periods of abstinence but usually its only a matter of time before the Edy’s creeps its way back into my freezer. Falling off the wagon doesn’t happen quickly, but rather a little bit here and a little bit there. I will usually go through periods where my will power is fortified but usually it’s only a matter of time before I begin to have symptoms of withdrawal on those lonely nights when there was nothing in the freezer. I had an interesting experience that I think speaks to a major problem with weight loss. I was attending a fundraiser for a charitable organization I support. This was a high class affair and as such, I was out of place. The nice thing about being out of place is that it give you the opportunity to notice things. This is an important principle when applied to weight loss. It essentially means that if you burn more calories than you eat you will lose weight.
