Mindful eating is a great way to control eating

The other day I sat down at the table and stared down at a plate that, based on the presence of crumbs, I can only assume very recently had food on it.  I don’t remember eating, but the plate seemed to argue otherwise.  I suppose I had been so hungry that I scarfed down the entire plate without even being aware of what I was doing.  I was then faced with an empty plate and (what felt like) an empty stomach.
